Some organizations open their training courses to the public. This guide
walks you through the whole journey — enrolling, completing the course, and
receiving your certificate.
Enrolling
Browse the available courses on the training catalog. You can view any
course's outline without an account; to take one, sign up for a free
CognixHealth learner account (no organization needed) and click Enroll.
The course appears on your My Learning page, and you'll get a
confirmation email.
Before you start
The first time you open a course you'll acknowledge a short notice: the
training must be completed in order, without rushing, and — if the
course sets one — you must accumulate a minimum amount of engaged
training time before a certificate can be issued.
Working through the course
- Everything unlocks in order. Sections and modules open one after
another; you can't skip ahead. A lock icon shows what isn't available
yet.
- Videos must be watched to the end. Fast-forwarding is disabled (the
player jumps back if you drag past what you've watched) and playback is
capped at normal speed. You can always rewind and rewatch.
- Documents are read slide by slide. PDFs and slide decks display
inside the course with Previous/Next controls — you must page through to
the last slide. If you leave partway, the document reopens on the slide
you reached, and slides you've already viewed open instantly (Previous/Next
or the slide menu).
- Knowledge checks and quizzes. Some sections end with a short practice
quiz (ungraded, instant feedback). Modules can end with a graded quiz you
must pass to continue, and the course ends with a final quiz.
- Some materials include a Listen button with an audio narration you
can play alongside the content. Listen to it to the end to finish the
section; if you stop partway, it picks up where you left off.
Course materials are for viewing inside the course only — there are no
downloads.
The training time clock
If the course requires minimum hours, a clock in the player tracks your
engaged time: video playback and active reading count; sitting idle,
background tabs, and the course home screen don't. Watch the clock, not
your watch.
Finishing too fast voids the attempt. If you complete all the content
before reaching the required time, no certificate can be issued for that
attempt — the course will offer to restart from the beginning, clearing
your progress so you can take it again at a proper pace.
Your certificate
Complete everything (with any minimum time met) and your certificate
PDF is emailed to you within a minute or two. It also appears on My
Learning, where you can download it anytime.
- Your name prints as the legal name on your account.
- Your BACB ID: after completing, you'll be asked to add it (if you
have one). Adding it regenerates the certificate with the ID printed —
same certificate, same verification code.
- Time to Complete prints your actual engaged time.
Every certificate carries a unique verification code and link — an
employer or auditor can use it to confirm your certificate is genuine, and
it keeps working even if the certificate is later regenerated.
Common questions
- It says I must restart the course. You finished the content in less
time than the course requires. Restart and pace yourself against the
engaged-time clock.
- My certificate hasn't arrived. It generates within a minute or two of
completion — check My Learning and your spam folder.
- I made a typo in my BACB ID. Edit it on My Learning next to the
certificate; the PDF regenerates automatically.
